Terms & Conditions

International Make-up Association (IMA)

1. Who We Are

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website ("Site") and the accreditation, certification, and related services offers, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("IMA", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing the Site or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Our Services

IMA provides accreditation and certification services for make-up education, including the assessment and approval of partner schools and training providers, and the issuing of certifications to individuals who meet our standards. Details of specific accreditation criteria, certification levels, and fees are set out separately in our current price list or partner agreements, which form part of these Terms where applicable.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to apply for certification or to enter into a partner school agreement with us.

4. Accreditation & Certification

  • Accreditation of a school or certification of an individual is granted solely at IMA's discretion, based on our published or communicated criteria at the time.

  • Accreditation and certification status can be reviewed, suspended, or withdrawn if standards are not maintained, information provided to us is found to be false or misleading, or these Terms are breached.

  • Certificates and accreditation marks remain the property of IMA and are licensed, not sold, for use in accordance with our brand and usage guidelines.

5. Partner Schools

Schools accredited by IMA are independent businesses and are not agents, employees, or franchisees of IMA. IMA is not responsible for the day-to-day operation, teaching quality delivery, or contractual disputes between a partner school and its own students, beyond the accreditation standards we set and monitor.

6. Fees & Payments

  • Fees for accreditation, certification, or membership are as set out at the time of application and are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.

  • We reserve the right to change our fees, giving reasonable notice for existing partners and members.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including the IMA name, logo, accreditation marks, course frameworks, and written material — is owned by or licensed to IMA and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our prior written permission.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site or IMA's name and marks in any way that is unlawful, misleading, or damaging to IMA's reputation, including misrepresenting your accreditation or certification status.

9. Disclaimers

The Site and our services are provided "as is." While we take care to keep information accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that the Site will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we make no guarantee of career, business, or income outcomes resulting from accreditation or certification.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IMA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site or our services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, where such limitation is not permitted by law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site or our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
